The Use Of Improper Writing Techniques For Writing

As a student, I am aware of my susceptibility to many forms of improper writing techniques that hinder my ability to produce a well-written paper. While I was aware of most of these incorrect practices, I found myself unfamiliar with many ideas covered in the preliminary chapters of Who Says? The Writer’s Research. Prior to reading chapters 1, 3, 4, and 9, I had never acknowledged the concept of information literacy and all of its various components. Admittedly, I had previously regarded literacy as the ability to read and write, and never thought it could be a method of interpreting information. Furthermore, I found the many ways in which plagiarism is manifested into a writing very interesting, as I had never been aware of other forms of plagiarism besides copying a text word for word. While I found these ideas to be of tremendous value, I found the most efficient way to create a thesis the most helpful, as I usually struggle with crafting a singular idea when I am producing an essay. With these tools for writing, I will now be able to act preemptively to ensure a superior essay. Chapter one introduces information literacy- a concept I found notable.
